Limited pink vinyl LP pressing. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ingrid Michaelson is proud to present a limited, one-time pressing ofLights Out on pink vinyl. Primus trailblazing studio debut, Frizzle Fry was originally released on Caroline in 1990. Five of the album s tracks – Groundhog s Day, Frizzle Fry, John the Fisherman, Pudding Time and Harold of the Rocks – were previously featured in live form on the band s 1989 album Suck on This and both were produced by Matt Exxon Winegar. Les Claypool and company pay their respects to a range of influences here from Zappa to Funkadelic to Metallica, all underscored with great panache by their leader s signature slap bass, cartoonish vocals and madcap sense of humor. Frizzle Fry s imaginative, newfangled sound was as refreshing as you could get at the time and it remains a high-water mark in the group s idiosyncratic catalog.
